The company Takara, known back in the days of making a toy line called Microman. They also had a toy line called Diaclone. Both are the prelude to a line that became Transformers in the U.S.(Which I am not a fan of, btw). But I am a fan of Microman and Diaclone…Not only did Diaclone have car, jet, train, dinosaur etc. robo’s, they also had robo base play sets. And this Skybase that is pictured. I might add this Skybase is the best ever play set that I own. Each robo and play sets come with mini figure(s) with magnets on their feet so they can stick to part of the play sets that have a thin metal floor within.
When it was brought to the U.S., the single car, train, etc. robo were the only ones brought over with one play set, which was the Battle Convoy. That ended up being O.P. The mini figures were never part of the T.F. line. What strikes me as strange, still to this day is that Diaclone was a cool line in my opinion, the fact when it died out in Japan, it eventually was brought to the U.S. After a bit of time, Takara brought the line back as T.F. and not Diaclone. Just because it was popular in the U.S. Sheesh, go figure that, aye?
